Threre are many choices in a 2-1.....Why V&\\;H????? I have tried just about every 2-1 \\;made and (haveing owned 1 set of V&\\;H's in my life) IMHO, I would not even put them in the running...There quality as well as there customer service sucks....I "tested" one and did one pull with it and it came off. If you want power and Not very loud try a Fatcat or Supertrapp......They both out performed the propipe substantially when I was watching the dyno......I dont run either just have done a TON of testing with pipes on my personal bike....Good Luck with what ever you choose...
I have the V&H pro pipes and really like how they look and perform. I agree, V&H service really sucks, but how much help do you need with a simple exhaust change?
Love my pro pipe. \\; I've had cagers follow me into a gas station to ask what I was running. \\; Relatively quiet until its under a load, then she barks nicely. \\; Sounded awesome in the mountains.....
I had the V&H Pro Pipe on my '03 Heritage Softail and it was a great pipe. It had a beautiful tone at idle and acceleration. If you actually like your neighbors, as I do, it is perfect for getting the best sound out of your Harley without being a P.I.T.A.
When you get on it, there's no doubt you are riding a Harley. I guess it delivers what you request of it. I don't know what more you could ask of a pipe. BTW, some pipes sound good, some look good, some are less expensive, but if you want the whole package, then IMO you just can't beat a V&H Pro Pipe.
Someone said V&H customer service sucks. I can't speak for them, but I can for myself. When I called to ask about pipes for my new Fat Boy, Wendy, who also owns a Fat Boy, patiently spent about 15 minutes of her busy day going over the pro's and con's of each one I was considering.
That is what I would consider excellent customer service.
Pro Pipe:
1.) Sound/Tone
2.) Quality of build
3.) Looks
4.) Cost

One of the guys I ride with has the ProPipe and it sounds great. If your going performance check into the RB racing LSR 2/1. I have it and wouldn't have anything else. Also, D&D makes a good performance 2/1.
the new black propipe is suppose to be available in april I think I am going to get one, they have it on there website and it certainly is the look I am after,I called V&H awhile back to get some info on the pipe and the guy I was talking to said that it is going to be a totally new pipe designed more for big inch high HP motors ,it will have a stepped header and a new baffle design unlike the HS or BP propipe.

I agree quality and customer service suck!
I have a Pro Pipe on my 04 Screamin Eagle since it was new. I had a bad accident and got busted up pretty bad so the bike sit for almost a year. Shortly after I got back on it the cone busted where the screws hold the end cap......the end cap and baffle blew out.
I called Vance & Hines and even though it was a little over a year old, I was able to produce the receipt from the dealership showing the mileage at the time the exhaust was installed and another showing the current milage.......just a tad over 7k miles and just a couple months out of warranty and they wouldn't stand behind it.
A friend gave me a cone that his insurance replaced for him, due to a bike drop. It was like brand new except for the little scratch on he end cap and the very end of the cone. That one lasted nine months before it broke in the same places (where the screws for the end cap go into the cone). I've since bought one on ebay.
Ive got the pro pipe on my deluxe and thinking about putting one on the UC. I think its a good sound and good performance. No issues here with quality..
I had one on a 2001 Softail Std. and loved it. I bought a 2007 Fat Boy and the dealer put the hard sell on getting a Cobra 2 into 1, which actually wokred well. They said poor service from V&H was not worth it and Cobra has a lifetime warranty. I wanted to go back to a Pro Pipe for my 2009 Street Glide and I emailed V&H. The response was - no plans to make this for the new platform. Oh well.
I had one on my Fatboy and liked it so I ended up with one on my Ultra (see sig pic). I actually switched from Rinehart True Duals. The Pro Pipe, IMHO, sounds good but not as good as the Rineharts.
