I just picked up my new Road King Classic. I have 12 miles on Her. I bought the Alarm siren to install myself. My bike is at my shop on the other side of town. I was wondering if any one can tell me how the side covers come off. are they bolted on or are the a push on connector, or what? Thanks for your comments
Thanks Mac, & Homer, I kind of thoght that might be the case. This is a kick a** sight. you can ask a question & within a couple of minutes you will usually have an educated/experienced answer.
hey guys, while we're at side covers; has anyone ever drilled & tied through them on the prongs, on the inside, to keep the covers from being stolen? This was a recurring problem I had on my 1000 Kaw since they were the same, just pop them off - don't know if they disappear off HD just as quickly, but that was the fix on the Kaw - although there was a little more room on the Kaw to do this.

P.S. excuse the "Kaw" talk
Never thought of it, and to be honest, around where I live I don't worry about it. Most people won't touch a Harley that's sitting there.
I hear ya Mac, but let me tell you, Baltimore is another world - watch you're back there; they will shoot you for $5.00 - I grew up in Balt., and moved out when I was 18, and I don't go there anymore unless it's absolutely neccessary - same for a few other places in Maryland, they will steal / do anything, but I suppose every state has there "problem" areas ...... that's why I might want to lock the covers down (just the "quick" stuff).
I grew up in Bowie, MD, so I know what you're saying about Baltimore, my in-laws live in Reisterstown. I'm not much on snow, crime, or stupidity, so I know that I will never live there again!
