I read all the posts about fareing brackets and thought nothing of it even though I really haven't been able to really see in my mirrors sisnce the bike was new.&nbsp\\;One day&nbsp\\;the ol lady is bored with her RK on day and decides to ride the SG and finds the fareing shaking so bad she goes to the dealer and sure enough the main RT side bracket and the speaker bracket&nbsp\\;are broken so the dealer orders 1 in.&nbsp\\;Anyway I decide to have a look at this thing myself and WTF as I see it with 35 yrs of welding there's no friken way they can last cuz basically it's just a tab so as a no brainer&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;I gas weld this thing up myself on both side of the web and I'm thinking I'll never have to pull it off again.

Yep...HD really needs to re-engineer the bracket.&nbsp\\; No way are they ever going to admit it is faulty adn recall them all. But if they would actually MAKE a better bracket we could have an alternative.&nbsp\\; I agree w/ you its a POS that needs "beefing-up" in order to not break again.

 

I fixed mine for 89 cents and a trip to the hardware store.

Same fix on mine. Both sides were replaced as in 'Old Hippie's" pics. I doubled up the "L" brackets on mine though. No problems since.
