Default GPS Wiring

Noticed in my 07 Road Glide manual that the cigarette lighter is wired to the same wires as the ACC switch is. They all go to the&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;ACC fuse. Why would running my GPS off the&nbsp\\;cigarette lighter not be safe?
