STOP! \\; Listen to JakeF14........I currently own a Automotive Reconditioning Facility and bike wash outside Chicago. \\; Use rubbing alchol and a microfiber towel only!.......that is, if it is truly just tree sap.
I just had an issue w/ sap from a maple tree. Believe-it-or-not, even after baking in the morning sun, Harley Gloss took that crap off almost instantly.
Rubbing alcohol works great. \\; Literally melts the stuff. \\; Don't rub too hard or you'll leave swirl marks. \\; Afterward rise and wax the area.
I have shown cars for years. Tons of tree sap. Warm water and Dawn dish soap. Let is soak in. Do small spots if you have to. Should bring it right up! Then put a NICE wax job on it only AFTER you get the sap off.
Won't hurt your paint at all! My car paint cost me $12,000 go get done. Looks as good as the day it was donw. Good Luck!
