The SERT allows changes to the programming built into the stock computer (ECM). The V&H fuelpak and PCIII are add-on units that modify the output of the ECM to add or remove fuel. The PCIII also allows changes to the timing.
I had a PCIII and switched to a SERT/dyno tune. I say this because you don't install a SERT. It is a plug that allows a mechanic to hook a computer up to your bike.
A SERT tune is not a DIY job and requires a dyno to correctly tune your bike.
I know . . . I know . . . there are some guys here who like to play with things and tweak things themselves. More power to you and I hope you finally get your bike to run well.
I chose the easy route. Buy a SERT cheap on Ebay and then pay a reputable dyno shop to tune your bike.
The results are that my bike has run PERFECTLY now for nearly 5000 miles. Prior to that with the PCIII, I had some issues with popping, rough idle, and starting issues.
This is all just my personal opinion, Many will disagree so go for it. Many may also agree so please post if you do. Thanks.
