A recent trip I took from Fort Hood, Texas to Savannah, Ga on my 08' RG ANN averaged 50 mpg at 65 and 44 mpg at 70. \\; Most of it is about how you ride. \\; Fast accelerations, speeds, etc. \\; Of course, my bike is completely stock and no pipe add ons...yet.
I've been getting 35-38 in town and 44-50 highway. \\; I modified my stock airbox tonight with my Dremel tool to increase the opening by about 60%. \\; I will be anxious to see if I can notice the difference, power-wise or mpg-wise, over the next few days.
My RG on recent trip to Skyline Drive got 52 on the drive at 34 to 40 mph. \\; On the trip home on I81 at 70mph dropped to 45. \\; D&\\;D 2 into 1 and stage 1

Maybe you're already running stage 1 with some type of fuel management system, but if not, be careful that you open it too much or you could start running too lean, and then you'll have to add a fuel management system to provide the correct map.
STOCK I GOT THE USUAL 40MPH \\; @ 65-70
 \\;
RK3909 K&\\;N,FUELPAK AND TRUE DUALS \\; AVERAGE NOW IS 45-48 @65-70
 \\;
GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME
After doing my stage 1 my mpg went up 4-6 mpg
went from 42 to 46-48
It depends on how things are done
I agree that bigger is sometimes better, if it's done right
I did'nt check, but long ago I've been told that on four stroke engines max mpg is on max torque max gpm is on max power. On a two stroke engine it's the contrary.
