were are you gettingh your info? 06 and newer radios are speced at 2 ohms, not 4. the rear speakers may be 8 ohms on the older bikes but to my knowledge all the front speakers on 05 and older are 4 ohm maybe check the owners manual for specs on your speakers
Ok with all this 2ohm, 4ohm, 8ohm discussion I decided to call Radio Sound directly and ask them.
The 03-04 models for sure have 8 ohm speakers. they stated that 4 ohm speakers will work. However, over time it will break down the amp in the radio.
They do have an enhanced sound amplifier package (60 watt vs 35-40 watt) that outputs to all four speakers and using the enhanced sound amp package you can use 4 ohm speakers. Again however, the tour pack must always be connected with the rear speakers. Otherwise there will be no draw on the two rear speakers and will damage the amp.
Question: Can a very small T class amp (to fit inside the fairing) be used from the radio's output in order to use 4ohm speakers?
ok if you are running an amp then the amp powers the speakers not ht eradio. an amp in the fairing will be an arc audio mini blaupunkt pa2100 or similiar and an mh audio amp these are all 2 channel amp for 2 speakers
