Do all Harleys start in gear? It's 2008 and i can't believe this company still has a bike that \\;\\\\\\; starts in gear. I don't have a problem with it but when a friend of mine went to test drive a bike it was a problem. [align=right]

I had to ask because this is my first Harley. Now my next question is.................is there a kick stand saftey on the Ultra's. I'm asking just in case mine wasn't working.

Yes it is hard to believe that they dont have a safety switch to disable the starting circuit if it is gear. I know my 06 will start in gear.

The 07's and 08's have to either be in neutral or have the clutch pulled in. The clutch lever contacts a switch to allow starting while in gear.

When a customer is a newbie or has come from Jap bikes or European bikes this could cause \\;a serious problem if lets say the newbie is \\;at a rally and parked in a pack. OOPs could cost a life.
