IN New York state you'll need a separate&nbsp\\; EZ Pass, since bike charges are lower on some tolls then cars,&nbsp\\; That said i suctioncup in a holder on my roagglide windshield, remove it when not in use. simple enough.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; BIKE ez pass has a LARGE M on it,, DO NOT TRY USEING IT ON YOUR CAR&gt\\;&nbsp\\; or face the wrath of the STATE LOL

I wanted to put it under the fairing but after it didnt read from the glove box I figured it wouldnt read it from under the fairing. I will bet i had it upside down or something in the glove box. I have the bike registered with my account so I might just mount the one from my truck under the fairing and see if it works. Then just buy a new one for the truck.

Does anyone use a toll transponder on their Ultra? I threw mine from the car into the glovebox on the lower fairing but it didn't read going through the tolls. Anyone have it somewhere else?
I picked up an EZ Pass holder from a BMW/Victory shop, but you can probably find one on-line.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; The holder has two suction cups and I just put it on the inside of the windshield. Once I am out of the Northeast, I take it off at the next gas stop and put it in the saddlebag.

I had a conversation with a guy at the Mass Pikes "Fast Lane" operations center about this.

I was drivin my wifes Porsche and I held the transponder from my car up and out the left side window as I went thru and it did't read.

I have had this problem with both bikes too.

I was told for the transponder to read, it has to be in the area to the right of the rear view mirror, up high, with the unit mounted with the up arrow in the right direction.

The Fast Lane ( EZ Pass) guy said that they have lots of problems with bikes.

I have seen some holders for the transponders online that might work on my bagger, but I have seen nothing that would work on the rice bike.
&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
I bought one of the holders that mounts on the handle bars.&nbsp\\;I tried it on a Heritage Softail Classic, and a Road King - The reader&nbsp\\; in Syracuse, NY&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;never recognized the transponder on either bike.&nbsp\\; I always have to go with the old stand-by - grab a ticket from the booth operator and pay cash when I leave.&nbsp\\; I haven't&nbsp\\;tried the mount on the&nbsp\\;Ultra yet.&nbsp\\;I know several people have said they throw them in fairing pouches, inside fork bags,&nbsp\\;inside saddlebags, etc.&nbsp\\;However, I have my doubts that any of these really work.&nbsp\\;Since mine doesn't work unobstructed, I don't&nbsp\\;really see how the transponder&nbsp\\;can work inside a bag obstructed from view.&nbsp\\; (Just my opinion.&nbsp\\; Other states may have stronger transponders and/or better receivers that will read a transponder in a saddle bag\\; but, I know for a fact that&nbsp\\;they don't work unobstructed on a bike in New York - at least not when entering the Throughway (I-90) at I-81 in Syracuse.)

I have a transponder issued from NH. No problems using it in NY as I stated in my post earlier in this thread.

&nbsp\\;
What you know for a fact is that YOURS doesn't work.&nbsp\\; I'd get a new pass - I know several people that got faulty passes from N.Y.&nbsp\\; I got mine from Maine and have never had an issue in N.Y.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
I've entered and exited the thruway at that exit several times without a problem and my pass is "obstructed" inside a leather windshield pouch (I used to live in Binghamton and also&nbsp\\;Utica when I was in N.Y.)&nbsp\\;- I get the green light every time and the tolls show on my statement.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; The reader doesn't have to "see" it thru glass for it to work.&nbsp\\; the reason they send it in a special plastic bag and tell you to keep the bag if you need to send it back - because they have problems of the EZ-Pass' being in the back of mail trucks going down the highway registering at each toll the mail truck passes thru.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; My pass has worked from Maine to Illinois to Virginia in a leather windshield pouch.

Well got the scooter back from the stealership. I had them do some warranty work . Oil leak(hmmm harley with a oil leak imagine that). XM wasn't coming in hardly at all. and a few other things. Well i go&nbsp\\;t the bike bag and they had removed the windshield bag (or fairing bag or whatever you call it)that they had installed when they put&nbsp\\;the xm in it. They said the metal from&nbsp\\;the bag bracket was blocking the signal to the antenna&nbsp\\;that was located directly under it.Nice of them to tell me thay when I asked them to install the bag while they were installing the xm.Well long story short I removed windshield and&nbsp\\;glass beaded&nbsp\\;small section of shield behind bag&nbsp\\; to 'smoke' it and hide the scratching from the bag. moved xm antenna from in fairing to on the metal bracket between two of the bags and put the ezpass under the fairing on top of the radios in proper orientation. We will see how it works.....
