Another BAD DEALER thread
Wanted to start another one just so everyone knows who NOT to buy from
I nominate Boston Harley Davidson, under the new owner Bruce Rossmeyerr of Daytona HD fame, and many other east coast FLA stealerships.
The Boston HD franchise was once known as "Cycle craft" back in the day, us locals called it CYCLE SHAFT. Looks like we need to resurect the name.

They sold a buddy a florida police RK with 15K on it for 17 grand. I think that is a royal screwing but that's between him and the dealer.
Usually when a P spec bike is sold to a civilian, the dealer pulls the run flats and installs a 2 up seat as part of the deal. The previous owners of Boston HD always did that, mostly for liability reasons having to do with no 2 up riding on run flats.
So they sell my buddy this bike, making a huge profit, as P spec bikes are heavily discounted by the factory. They INSIST he buys LoJack.. no LoJack no sale, then they charge him for 2 new tires, a seat, a service, and an obscene "documentation fee"
They tell him the bike will be read Tuesday.
Tuesday comes and goes, he has no bike, He has already registered, insured, an titled it.
So he finds out the seat is still a week away, the have done none of the other work, they just want him to take delivery and bring the bike back later.
He asks why the tires have not been done and they say they don't want to run the bike thru the shop twice. He says what makes you think I want to come back from NH twice?
As soon as he mentions lawyering up they say he can back out. They won't refund his deposit till the title comes back from some bank in Nevada.
Now remember the riding season in New England is about 4 months long, this is Laconia Rally week. If a dealer says the bike will be ready on Tuesday, don't make it 3 tuesdays away.

Thanks for the warning.

Sounds like the 3 other dealers I found in New England who when I called last year and asked if the had a Black Cherry EGC, they said "yep" c'mon down.. I gave the first one a deposite over the phone. Got there... no Black Cherry.. "but, we can get one if you really want one... but don't you really like this special paint "puke" burgandy and cream?"
 \\;
How can you tell when many H-D dealers are lying? Their lips are moving.

Dealers out to make money. Your friend is a fool for paying that for that bike in the first place.
 \\;
Lets see new 08 Road Glide MSRP $18.145 and hes going to pay 17,000 for a bike with 15K on it and its the dealers fault?

It was his decision to buy the bike at that price correct, a fool and his money are soon parted they say.
 \\;Would you care to comment on the failure to deliver the bike when promised part of it. That is why he cancelled the sale. \\; That IMHO was the problem. He was willing to pay the price but he wanted the bike when promised.

My guess is once they realized how much he'd pay for this bike they figured he was an idiot and could jerk him around on everything else. It's like blood in the water for sharks.

Sorry for your friends problems, but going forward I'd have him do his homework on price and when he leaves his deposit get it in writing what will be done and when.
