I wouldn't even do that, this is where all the swirl marks in paint come from. Just spraying water is not going to get all \\;the \\;grime off the \\;bike and that it what will \\;scratch the paint. I see people all the time at hotels taking hotel \\;towels and wiping down there bikes after a rain \\;and it makes \\;me cringe.  \\;

IMO - would not wipe off rain. \\;\\\\\\; Spary down with clean water, wash, rinse, then wipe off. \\;\\\\\\; Would think dust, sand, etc. in the rain. \\;\\\\\\;
