I went for a ride a few days ago and everything was fine. \\; I rolled up to pay a toll, paid, and went to turn the volume up on my factory 04 RG CD/ AM/ FM radio. \\; Nothing. \\; The volume is stuck all the way down in the CD mode. \\; So now I have a CD playing that I can not hear, change the volume, change the track number, mode, or eject. \\;
I had one of the handlebar controls for the radio that shorted\\; it was always on. \\; That caused the radio to lock up, it would not respond to any input. \\; I found the switch was bad, replaced it and then all was OK again. \\; You can unplug the wire harness from the switches one side at a time, and then try to eject the CD as a test. \\; Good luck.
I took apart the front fairing and disconnected the switches for each handlebar to see if it sorted. \\; That worked. \\; The right side switch shorted. \\; I reconnected the switch and it works again. \\; We will see for how long. \\;
