Just returned from a nice 3 day ride with some friends. \\; One of the riders is about 74 and we were in some pretty extreme canyons and twisties most of the day. \\; I think he was getting tired. \\; Just coming out, he was in a very gentle turn and somehow got off in the dirt to the right while making an easy left turn. \\; His front tire went side ways, and he slid into a cpncrete jersey wall, flattening out his rim. \\; It held air, but this was the closest I've every seen to someone getting killed. \\; He slid, bucked, turned, and wrestled that bike off the wall and made it down to the stop sign. \\; I was 35 feet behind him when it happened. \\; When I pulled up to him of course I was excited and ask if he was ok, then we pulled over to the rest of the guys waiting right there, and checked out his bike, and he was fine. \\; I ripped him for not paying attention, and told him how close a call it really was, and that I was sick to my stomach with worry. \\; He looked back at me with his old toothy grin and said, "I rather you just said, NICE SAVE, DUDE!" \\; We all just broke up. \\; The things you see when you don't have your camera ready?
