Does your stators match the rotor, if they aren't correct for each other it will shorten the life. Harley had some mismatched set get out of the factory and I believe it might have been '01.

Have you checked the regulator? I'd have the whole electrical system checked. As stated above, the stator and rotor needs to be a matched set.

Can you explain this more. I get a clank sound in my front end when I apply the front brakes sometimes. My small Indy said something about a stator. Not sure exactly what a stator is. What does it have to do with the rotor? Thanks

Two different things.&nbsp\\; They're talkin' about the stator (wire windings) &amp\\; magnet rotor that rotates around it on the end of the crank shaft.&nbsp\\; It generates the electricity your motor uses.&nbsp\\; Nothing to do with the brake rotor.

I put the new Cycle Electric Stator and Rectifying Regulator on my King.&nbsp\\; The stator has been great, but the Regulator they sent me was a defect, which they replaced.&nbsp\\; I was out on the road when I discovered this so I had to go with an HD OEM Regulator to get down the road.&nbsp\\; So, I've got a new in the box Regulator from Cycle Electric if you're interested or find you need it.&nbsp\\; $100 and it's yours + shipping.&nbsp\\; Check their website.&nbsp\\; It's for the dresser/touring models. PM me if you want.

The rotor is NOT inside the stator, and
the stator is NOT rotating.
The rotor is&nbsp\\;rotating around the stator,&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;sending electricity
to the regulator.
