Can you explain this more. I get a clank sound in my front end when I apply the front brakes sometimes. My small Indy said something about a stator. Not sure exactly what a stator is. What does it have to do with the rotor? Thanks

Have you checked the regulator? I'd have the whole electrical system checked. As stated above, the stator and rotor needs to be a matched set.

The clank sound in the front end may be caused
by a "loose" brakepad.
Check the anti rattle spring in your calipers.
I've had the same on my bike
BTW this has nothing to do with your stator.

If you're blowing OEM stators installed properly, you have a problem somewhere else. \\; Likely an intermittant short. \\; I'm surprised you're not blowing regulators first/also, and regulators should be replaced when you do a stator. \\; On my 79 POS, I went through several stators and regulators, then one day when I was changing the fork oil and had the covers off, I found that half the flag connector on one of the switches was blown off from it shorting to the fork tube intermittantly. \\; Fixed that and never had another problem with stators/regulators.
