Well, after all you help, I traded in the lowrider for a 2007 Classic with 2700 miles&nbsp\\; - silver with security system - very nice. 15900. Got a decent tradin too.

I am picking it up tommorrow. I just had them put a driver backrest and the detachable tourpak option on right away. I will post pics when I get it home.

I took it for a test drive and MAN what a difference - rough roads became smooth, and 75MPH down the expressway was like 30 on my old bike. And the RADIO!! man, the tunes sound great. I think I am going to be very happy, and the wife will be too. The only problem is it sounds like a Honda. I will have to get new pipes as soon as I can - any suggestions on ones that give a nice rumble, are inexpensive, and are easy to install?

Ed

Ed, great choice, I own a Street Glide (08) and I added Reinhart True Duals to her and I really like the sound.&nbsp\\; But as many of these guys told me, you might be better off dealing with the sound for awhile and going to a few bike shows or events and listening to other bikes and making your decision that way. It worked for me, and that is what I chose.&nbsp\\; I love the bike and the pipes.&nbsp\\;
&nbsp\\;
Good luck!
welcome to the bagger familY!

Try to find other bikes that you like the sound of, and find out who&nbsp\\; and what kind of pipes they are.&nbsp\\; Your ears will know the sound you are after. Go to a bike rally, poker run, or your local dealer to hear the different sounds. oh by the way good luck.

When I first got my "bagger" I got 10000 opinions, from various places. There was no HDForums
at the time. I would follow the advise given, go to a few bike runs/events. Most guys LOVE to
talk up what they have done. Even the stealer may even shock you and come up with some good
suggestions. They're not all idiots, just some, just..... well anyway good luck!

Good luck and Congrats on the EGC..
&nbsp\\;
I'm running Rush w/ 1.75 baffles...not too loud but nice. I would prefer the new SE mufflers, but they are kind on on the quite side....for me that would be great....

Well, what all the other guys said, but also let's point out that you are eventually going to want to cool the bike down, gain a few horsepower and broaden the rpm band a tad, especially down toward 2000rpm. So, recognizing that the engine is basically an airpump, sucking air in, addign gas&nbsp\\;and pumping it out, you might be best advised to do the stage 1.
&nbsp\\;
This would give you better sound, cooler running engine (it needs it), more power and a bit broader useable rpm range.
&nbsp\\;
A stage 1 is pipes, air-cleaner and some type of electronic fuel injection mods. A very popular one is the one Jamie packages at FuelMoto with a Power Commander and PCIII and modded Rush pipes, getting up to 90hp.
&nbsp\\;
Think about it, especially after a hot day and your right thigh is fried.
