Interesting way to mount a GPS
I've seen several posts with quesions about how and where to mount a GPS and was looking for some ideas myself. I don't wanna spend the extra money for something like a Zumo just yet. I have an old Garmin 330 that I used to have in my truck and replaced with a Garmin 550. When I was out riding last weekend I saw a Road King with a Garmin 330 mounted on the windshield. What they did was cut half of the suction cup away from (on a clock face) 9 to 3. Lined up the remaining edge of the suction cup with the horizontal stainless hardware on the inside of the windshield. They then drilled a hole through the hard plastic piece that sits atop of the rubber suction cup and mounted it to one of the left side windshield screws. They \\;had put a piece of velcro on the windshield and on the top edge of the Garmin to cut down on the vibration. I thought it was a great idea for a low cost and secure way to mount a GPS so wanted to share. It's not the most elegant thing I've ever seen but very functional.
