Nothin like a little red fur! hehehehe. I've been on (mostly) FL's since the mid 60's. You will not find a better handling more nimble bike at low speeds than an FL Harley Davidson. You just won't. The key, as you already pointed out, is practice. As had been said, get the Ride Like A Pro dvd. It will most likely be the single most important and best motorcyle investment you will ever make. When you order it, mention HD Forums and get a discount. Among other cool things, you'll learn how to turn your Ultra around in a really tight space, at 5mph, with the bars at full lock, and your boards scraping the ground. And no, I'm not making this up! It's for real. I'm 5' 6". My wife rides a Street Bob at 5' 4". She can ride and do it all on my Glide. Practice..............practice..........more practice. Learn to practice even when you're just out riding and you won't have to devote 3 hours on a Saturday morning to practicing. After awhile, in the course of everyday riding, you'll just throw in practice maneuvers here and there and not even realize you're doing it! Have fun, enjoy the bike and the ride!

Funny you should say ya dropped it 3 times..A friend of mine Bouhgt an 08 Electra Glide Classic and has dropped it 3 times in 400 miles..He thought there was something wrong with it and lhad me ride it home after a spill and I also thought there was a Problem with it..The bike would shake alot in the front end when stopping and down shifing into first at low speed. It made me wonder if that was a normal thing?? My 07 Softail does'nt shake at all..He had the dealer pick it up and they say theres nothing wrong?? I want a new bagger now and wonder am I gonna have the same problem?? Is this normal and what can I tell him??And ive told him about the experienced rider course that I took and He swares it not his skills...

Your softail is counterbalanced (96B), his EGC is rubber mounted (96A).&nbsp\\; It's normal.

I guess this LEO forgot that a bagger doesn't handle well at slow speeds...

You really have to stay off the front brake when coming to a final stop and use the rear brake only. If you use only the front brake you get all that weight shifting to the&nbsp\\;front end&nbsp\\;and it wants to bring you down. As already stated its in the Ride like a pro DVD, great&nbsp\\;dvd for 30 bucks.

This must be why I only have trouble with this dern bike at speeds under 1 mph.
I'll try to stay off the front brake going that slow.
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
I have trouble all the time creeping the bike. I must be using the front brake to much then.
But I've only dumped it once, inside the garage. [>:]
I really don't think I was even moving.
I must have bumped the kick stand back on the floor, while I was screwing around with the bike.

Did you test drive one before buying? A local LEO buddy is 5'-7", 170 lbs and throws his around like a scooter. The practice word was spot on... Good luck and happy trails.
