I was wondering if anyone had installed a hidden antenna on their SG? \\; I'd like to get rid of the whip antenna and go with a hidden one to clean up the rear of the bike! \\; Any info or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thx, Hoppy
I bought mine at auto zone for $29.00 its powered so i use the connection in the faring
for the lighted fender tip and duct taped it inside the fairing works great
I bought one of whatever Harley was sellin' when I still had a radio. \\; It worked, but I never used the radio, so when I took the radio out I gave the antenna to a friend that was tired of the whip. \\; He didn't want to take the time to remove the fairing, so we just hooked it up inside his tour-pac planning on him re-mounting it when he got home. \\; That was nearly a year ago &\\; it's still in his tour-pac. \\; Better reception than the whip &\\; easy to disconnect if he takes the tour-pac off. \\; No reason to move it.
I ran one for a while, but with the hills around here, it did not work near as well as the whip, I went to the stock 08 whip, it works as good as the long 06 one, and is a lot shorter, I also tried the stubby one, it dident work very well either, the inner one I tried was a powered dakota digital.

I have the tune trapper and prior to that used a dikota digital powered unit, they both stink. \\;\\\\\\; Well it has more to do with were I live, I am far enough outside Chicago where signals get spotty. The stock antenna was WAY Better. \\;\\\\\\; My wife almost poked her eye out in the garage just walking by it (the stock antenna) so I got rid of it all together and used that as an excuse to solve the issue by purchasing Sirius and using my ipod :P
