New motor mount from HD sux !!
Most that own a '06 touring model are aware of the service bulletin regarding the motor mount issue. When changing to the new version (which \\;\\\\\\;is manufactured with stiffer rubber) some have noticed an increase in vibration. \\;\\\\\\;I have personally \\;\\\\\\;had this experience with my SG. I even tried to purchase the old model after mine was changed out but couldn't find a dealer that had one in their inventory. I figured I would just learn to live with the new version that is until today!
Let me explain. In a recent post \\;\\\\\\;the topic of vibration came up. There was a particular response from a fairly new member (RISGDUDE) that got my attention. He said that he was unhappy with the newer motor mount and his dealer suggested he replace it with a Buell motor mount \\;\\\\\\;that was softer but stronger than the stock mount that came with the '06's. He tried it and reported good results so I asked him for the part #, ordered one and had it installed today. All I can say is, "WOW!!!" dramatic difference on my SG. I'd estimate a good 35% to 40% (at least) reduction in vibration. Especially at idle.
For those interested the part # is L0501.2  \\;\\\\\\; \\;\\\\\\;
The text and picture below refer to the TSB that Harley published. \\; The first picture is the old motor mount off of an '06 the second picture is the new style. \\; The picture is not meant as a comparison between the Harley mount and Buell mount.
Below is part of the service bulletin that came out in '06 suggesting the change. It shows the old and new style.

 \\;\\\\\\;The original poster states that the Buell part looks identical but has a different compound in the rubber.
The pictures posted refer to the TSB that Harley published showing the new part THEY recommend, not the Buell part.
At least that is how I understand it.

this one looks just about like the right hand image in the bulletin. \\; It has a lot stiffer rubber then the last one I've purchased. \\; Cost is $43.00.
 \\;
If your buying from the dealer this is the one to get.
Thats the one I have, 79D, at 60 mph or above it's great, at 50 and below you can't hardly see out of the mirrows, surley someone makes a good mount, heck I'd like to have the one that came on the blame thing if I could find one, I rode about 150 miles today and if I have to live with what I got I can but it's not by choice, I'm more concerened about those SE quick install pushrods than the mount now, going to buy S&\\;\\\\\\;S to replace, tired of hearing the clatter of them big ole sob's hitting the tube's, something all the time.
Well the best that I can say at this time is..... I stand corrected!!! \\; [8D]
 \\;
Would have thought that with the tougher feel to it that it would function better. \\; I guess its transfering more vibes to the frame at the lower rpms?
 \\;
I'm sure the weakly one which I'd just replaced with the Buell number and in the bag was the same as what I've had orginally on the bike won't last for 10K miles and I'll be finding out what the "D" has to offer then whether I want to or not.
 \\;
If the vibes are the only thing against it and its going to last, \\;I think its worth keeping over the stocker.... or the Buell number that is a stocker number replacement in a Buell bag!
