All very good feedback. Thanks everyone. Indeed the Sales Girl, was a twenty-something HOTTIE and if she were part of the deal I might feel differently. To give you a visual on this she was thin, petite, long hair and was wearing those hip hugger jeans. AARRGH!! To top it off, she RODE the Ultra out of the service drive to the fornt of the dealer. As if she wasn't already sexy enough, she rode the Ultra. If I weren't happily married, I would offered for her to ride something else. [sm=lildevil.gif] Anyway, back to reality....the SE is WAAAYY overpriced, I agree. The unfortunate problem is none of the dealers around me actually have an SE Ultra. My own neighborhood dealer informed me that they are all accounted for. Deposits have been taken on all the SE's that they will be receiving. In other words, unless something falls through like the one I mentioned, it doesn't look very likely that I will be getting one. I'll keep trying other dealers to see if I can secure an SE (at MSRP), otherwise I'll take the Black Cherry Ultra that is supposed to arrive sometime this week.
for 41k there had better be a years supply of taco fur!! from that hottie theyre 33 all day long around here. in daytona most bikes were 4-6k over msrp. i usually buy a t-shirt from every dealer i visit. but i passed on all the money grubbin as^holes down there.

Funny. They must be related to some of the dealers out here. The dealer that I normally go to is actually very good and would sell one to me at MSRP, but their allocation of SE bikes are already accounted for. So now I'm stuck calling dealer to dealer to see who can get one and IF they'd sell at MSRP. The amazing thing is for the money they get for these bikes, you could buy a very nice luxury car or truck...fully loaded. Sometimes I think I'm nuts for spending so much on my bikes. Maybe I need to reconsider the $41k offer and see if I can get a year supply of Taco Fur afterall.
I searched high and low for my SE Ultra. A dealer from Missouri told me to check up North. I found my green and black SE in Sioux Falls, SD for list. It's a great bike. I loved the paint job right off the bat. My wife and friends did'nt at first but has grown to really like it also. I put V&H slip-ons to kick it up a notch. I think that you'll love your SE.
Here's an update. So I called Quaid HD who has the SE Ultra that I want and asked them to accept MSRP for the bike or refund my deposit. They declined to come off their price, so they are refunding my deposit. Then I called my neighborhood dealer, Fullerton HD and found out why they mark these bikes up so much. Basically it works like this. My dealer will only receive 5 SE's and only 2 of which are the SE Ultra ALL YEAR LONG. That's it. They have already been sold or have deposits on them. Plus there is a long list of customers waiting for the chance to buy one. So it comes down to this....you are only going to get 5 SE bikes all year. Do you sell them at MSRP or make additional profit. Many people offer to pay more than MSRP (buyer bidding wars) just to get one. Fullerton HD informed me that they would only mark up the SE $2k and nothing more. No chance of getting one this year...maybe in '07.
Therefore I've decided to go with the Black Cherry that I ordered. The bike finally arrived at the dealer and I had a chance to see it tonight after work. It had just been taken out of the crate and not prepped yet so it won't be ready until sometime next week. This Saturday I will go to the dealer to handle all the paperwork and decide on what chrome I want the dealer to add before I take delivery.
Maybe you should have gone with the Dragonfly Green, after all it's a custom color and is very limited in the Ultra. I got mine in Feb. and while the color wasn't what I expected at first, i love it now and have gotten positive comments from all....the color is great in the sun.
Anyway, I'm completely happy with it and the 95" kit plus cams that I had put on it... getting it broke in and the power is there! You'll love the way yours handles....enjoy!
