All,
 \\;
I just sold my night train a couple of weeks ago to buy a bagger. I have since picked up a 08 pacific blue pearl electra glide classic and I LOVE IT. I am working on \\;taking all of the geezer out of the \\;glide. So far I have added the removable tour pack, 6" smoked wind screen, HD low profile bucket seat, street glide saddle bag supports, screaming eagle stage one and hooker tuned flow exhaust, \\;and I have also removed the bumpers. Here is where the questions \\;come in, I have just received a set of hog pro 8 spoke chrome wheels, \\;a 18" rear and 21" front with metzler tires. \\;I am installing these myself in a couple of days and would like to have \\;some advice from those of you who have done the install yourself. How much fender clearance do I need on the front tire? IF I have to raise the front fender up any, what do you recommend to hog the hole out with and can you estimate how much material you had to remove? What did you guys do to avoid damaging the paint around the fender holes? Anything else I need to watch for. Any advice is appreciated.
^^^^What he said.....You can tape a piece of 1/4 inch hosing (advanced auto, autozone) around the tire and then adjust the fender to make sure it clears with plenty of clearance.
