Please Compel Me
I've been riding a 2005 Gold Wing for the past three years and love it, but the only other bikes I ever owned were a Honda Sabre and a Suzuki Savage, so I have no other touring bike I can compare it to. \\; As much as I love the Wing, nothing \\;looks like the Electra Glide does, and I'm starting to think that I may just be in the market for one.
 \\;
So I'm torn between already owning a great bike and the possibility of buying another, and I can't have two so I'll have to make up my mind.
 \\;
I was hoping to get some opinions about the Electra Glide. \\; How's the power? \\; The comfort? \\; The fit and finish? \\; Quality of and attention to detail? \\; Reliability?
 \\;
I'm basically looking to find out as much as I can about what it's like to own one over time. \\; Please don't bother to flame the Wing because it's a well-built, smooth running machine that continues to serve me well. \\; I'm mjust getting a wandering eye and thinking with my gut right now.
 \\;
Thanks for your thoughts!

Probably going to get some bias opinions here.
If you are looking for a smooth cruise, keep the wing.
If you put 50k or 60k a year you may want to keep the wing.
If you are looking for the best looking stock tourer on the planet, Welcome to the dark side.
May I suggest you rent one form your local dealer and make your own decision..
Coming off a wing I would recommend an Ultra Classic.
Good luck either way you decide.

Your best bet is to go test ride one for yourself. \\;Did almost 200k on Wings, bought an '07 UC 18,000 miles ago, an' ain't looked back. \\;For me, it was the right choice. \\;Might not be for you - yer the only one that can make that choice.

Think about all the HD shirts you will be able to buy.
I rode a wing for a few years back in the late 90s...
I can't imagine comparing the bikes side by side. The Wing wins in almost every category (except resale). Comfort, speed \\;and reliability go to the Wing.

Harley brings a unique pride. It is a sense of pride you have never felt owning any other bike or even a car. You will go out o the garage to just look at it. The day you buy it you think it is perfect just the way it is... then you begin to dream up your own mods. You will begin to see the uniqueness and character of every bike and its owner. It really is an amazing thing. A Harley brings a fraternity and a lifestyle.

But a Wing is GREAT transportation.

I'm 64 years old. \\; I've owned my 07 Street Glide for a year and a month. \\;\\\\\\; Have put about 22,500 miles on it. \\;\\\\\\; I was out of riding Harleys for about 6 years. \\;\\\\\\; I'm loving my current bike. \\;\\\\\\; Been all over the West and into Mexico attending rallys. \\;\\\\\\; It's kinda like bad sex, there is'nt any!
Like NoKenDo says, rent one. Heck, rent a couple a few hundred dollars now is nothing compared to what you'll spend on chrome later. Been there, done that, got the Road Glide...

Never had a Wing to compare to.
You need to go rent a couple of bikes to compare to. If you are coming off of a Wing, you will probably want an Ultra.
Fit and finish is real good. The best part of it is that is has heart and soul.
Once you cross over to the dark side, you will wonder why it took you so long to get there!

The Harley has SOUL, it's the feel, the look, sound. It appeals to the senses. It is not for everyone, "only those who have ears to hear will come"...
