If you want to grin whenever you fire up the motor, settle into the most comfortable riding position on the market and have a blast making the bike your own version of perfection, try an Ultra.
&nbsp\\;
I rode wings for years but never felt the same stirring in my soul when riding like I do with the UC.&nbsp\\; I've put 18000 on mine in less than a year and still can't wait to back it out the garage in the morning

You can not compare the gold wing and harley.
Gold wing is a car engine on two wheels nice but boring
The Hd is the bike Honda wishes they could copy right&nbsp\\; coping the Vtwin style&nbsp\\;was the sales that keeps them going.
Gold wing is a ride it will get you there
The HD is a whole new world the trip is fun.

I have both a 06 wing and 08 street glide (stripped ultra?)&nbsp\\; Any way my wing is a great if I have to be 150 miles away now bike. I use it to commute to work as well.44miles one way. My Harley is a great riding FUN machine. I will give you this to consider. I will be riding to sturgis then to the grand canyon in a few weeks from GA. We are trying to decide if we are taking the Harley or the wing. The biggest problem i have with my Harley is I spend so much money on aftermarket stuff. I hate the wing in town, I love my sg in town. The wing set cruise on 85 turn the radio up and go 220 miles before fuel or any stop. The harley has cruise never used it, go 1oo miles get off drink a soda stare at my bike and ride again. The Batwing takes some getting used to after the wing's scooter like feeling. But my wing will kick my Harleys *** in speed curves and comfort for the wife. But she always smiles on the Harley.

Like other's have said, if you want to ride coast to coast as fast as possible, it's hard to beat the Wing. But face it, as long as we have day jobs, most of our miles are around town and weekend trips. You just can't beat the Ultra for comfort and style. And one of the cool things about Harleys is that you can rent them almost anywhere. Try an Ultra and a Road Glide and a Street Glide, and see if they ring your bell.

Thanks for all the feedback, folks.&nbsp\\; I'll be sitting my carcass on an Ultra Glide this weekend, I hope.&nbsp\\; If not, then in the next week or two I'll be renting one to take for a day and do some comparisons.
&nbsp\\;
For what its worth, I used to spend a lot of time on some Honda forums and found that there were some people who were objective, rational and sane when giving their opinions, but the vocal minority were vocal indeed, and often drowned them out.&nbsp\\; It's nice to meet some of you who have the&nbsp\\;qualities of the former.&nbsp\\; As we all know, these kinds of debates can go awry pretty quickly and I want to let you know I'm grateful for a lot of useful input.

I've&nbsp\\;owned/ridden many Hondas all my life...It is very different from the Harley experience.&nbsp\\; If you need to be compelled, you should probably stay with the Hondas, if you're open to a different experience try renting a Harley.&nbsp\\; Honda-Harley...both good...very different.&nbsp\\; Happy trails.

Buy what makes you happy. I tried the Wing before I bought the Ultra. The Wing is a great bike. So is the Ultra, but in a different way. It's a great ride that offers me countless options to customize that the Wing did not, specifically to remove the tourpac and add a single seat when I want. I wanted that flexibility. Plus, I love the classic look of the Ultra that the Wing cannot achieve. Your wants may be different. I would respect your decision either way (if that even matters!).

Good luck with your decision and ride safe!

If your willing to dump a few thousand more above list price to get your Harley running proper then go for it, If you are will to be over charged for the bike and all accesories then buy the harley
&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;
My suggestion is to stick with what you have or a new Honda it is twice the tourer the harley is regardless of what they say on here most are caught up in the nostalgia aspect of the Harley and cannot be honest&nbsp\\; Oh and they are caught up in the chrome and add on BS
&nbsp\\;
the only plus to a Harley is most of us can work on it

Either rent one to try it out, or just take the plunge and get one, renting one is only a taste owning one for a year is different, buy one keep it for a year and you can always sell it and go back to Honda if you want , at least you can say you owned a Harley, theres no need to be tied to any one bike forever.
