OK. Here's the situation. My dealer has offered to trade me, straight up, my 08 Road Glide for an 07 Road Glide with tour pack that has 2500 miles less than my 08. My 08 is Vivid Black and the 07 is the Pearl Yellowand honestly, I love the 07 color. I am frustrated by the 08 throttle (resetting every other day).
If you think you'd be happier with the 07 then go for it. \\; Who cares about value when you're riding a bike that does yield much smileage to you.
Let's see, if you love the color and you've been thinking about adding a tourpak to your bike, then it's a no-brainer. Only other differences I can think of are (on your 2008) bigger fuel tank, Brembo brakes, ABS (if you have it).
I woudln't go back. \\; If you want to trade, then consider going to purchase an 09. \\; The 07 is not worth the 08. \\; The dealer knows he can make more money off the 08 than the 07. Use the same money buy an 09 that is the color you like with the accessories.
Man, with a decision like this, you need to do what will make you happy tomorrow. If you really want the 07, do the trade. I took a loss on my last trade-in of my Sporty for my Ultra...but I now have the bike I want. You can't take the money with you when you go, so enjoy life now...and do what makes you happiest.
Actually, I can't believe you're asking us...  \\; It's all about smiles per miles. \\; What's going make YOU happy? \\; If it's really the color you want, and you're not planning on trading up in the next few, I'd say, GO FOR IT!  \\;[sm=biker.gif]
Is it a king tour pak or a chopped? Tour paks only a grand for a king ultra style. What makes you happy is priceless. \\; I road a 07 on a test drive seemed like a great bike to me. I love my 08 RG and wouldn't want to trade it for a 07 and get a silver engine. I like the black engine.
