I installed the kit yesterday. Blazing hot in my garage so I took a few breaks. I could have done it in less than 2 hours with help for the muffler install. I took three alone.
Took off the tins and right side plate.
Because some have had the PCIII bad out of the box, I hooked it up first, but did not tie it down. I had it sitting on a stool next to the bike. It also made access to the connector for my laptop easier. It fired right up but ran a little rough. I expected this since I did not have the AC or mufflers on yet. Shut it down and the throttle position indicator read 5%. Reset that ok. Then tied everything down. PC install done.
Tackled the AC. This was Jamies special. It uses a SE backplate with a KandN filter. Missing one #11 oring, ACE had it .50. Not as bad as I thought it would be. I scratched my head over an extra gsket til I realized it was for a different throttle body.
The mufflers were also pretty straight forward. Used the Permatex Copper Sealant. Do not tighten anything down until you check the alignment. I had the right one about 1 1/2 inches further on than the left! An extra set of hands might help here. A new set of HD clamps cost me $25 and I considered them worth it.
Got done and took it for an 80 mile run. Very responsive and MUCH COOLER! I do not have an oil temp guage to reference, but before the right rear engine guard would get very hot. After 30 minutes on the superslab, it was barely warm. Rider temp was cooler too. I never realized how much of the heat was trapped behind that fairing. I do not know about mileage yet. Want to run a few tankfulls first.
While the engine is cooler the mufflers are not! I have a slow leak in the rear tire and was trying to air it up. Burned the stuff out of my arm. The old mufflers ran a lot cooler, I could add air and they were hot but not too bad. The new ones raised blisters at the slightest touch! All that heat had to go somewhere. Just be careful around them!
Sound is good. I got several remarks that it sounds like a Harley now. I am not to sure what the neighbors might think when I fire it up at 5AM!
I would say that it is the best money I have spent on the bike.
Thanks to iclick for his help. His PMs were invaluable and let me know what to expect. So many have done or will do this mod, I think it might be good if we had a sticky for the PC.
I'm in the process of installing my setup now. Since I already had the bags and old mufflers off I went ahead and installed the TWR stabilizer I bought awhile back. It went on without any problems. Put the Jackpot mufflers on, tightened everything up, and reinstalled the heat shields. Now I'm on the AN Big Sucker. The kit was missing the three 1/4-20 x 1 1/4 set screws so I cut the head off some bolts and cleaned up the threads. I'm giving the loctite a minute to set up in the air cleaner studs before I continue.

Barring \\;any problems with the PCIII, I'll be out riding in a few more minutes.
My PCIII install went ok I guess, I had to trim the ECU plastic tray to get everything to fita agin, very tight with wires etc. Also running AN Big Sucker with Wild Pig slip ons. What I don't understand is how to check throttle position, I need a step by step tutorial as this stuff scares the **** out of me LOL! Anybody willing post the instructions step by step? I still dont get how to use the software.
