Not bad - 500 mile average days, easy 'nuff ta do. What DOES concern me is the lack of detailed information on the organizers. An' the only "hit" on the mailing address appears to be of the MLS listing (date unknown).
I don't get what the $1k entry is for. The privalege to ride with 'em, and a coin? That is if you don't haul a** and get there first for the prize I guess.
Sounds like a scam ta me! \\; If ya wanna do a ride like that, just do it. \\; Do ya really need to think of yourself as some kinda "warrior" just to ride yer *** off? \\; Pretty silly hipe, really.
I met a guy in Alaska who had ridden his BICYCLE from Patagonia and was enroute to Barrow. \\; He'd been on the road for 18 months. \\; Now that guy was a warrior! \\; These guys ain't even close.
wow, they expect someone to pay 1000 bucks to ride from florida to alaska and expect nothing out of the deal except a chance to win a million bucks by being the first idiot to show up. \\; \\; That is rich! \\; \\; \\; Let me see how the deal goes, \\; i get a map that shows me the route to pigsknuckle alaska. \\; I pay all my lodging, fuel, food, etc. \\; I get about thirty tickets for speeding cause if i win the money i will be able to pay them off right? \\; I show up in Pigsknuckle and the only thing i get is a sheet ton of tickets to pay and a worn out bike. \\; No thanks! \\; Sounds like a scam to me. \\; Here is a nugget of wisdom \\; "Dont believe a scam unless you started it!"
Don't know if it's a scam or not, but it's been done. \\; The record holder (in the other direction), Gary Eagan, is a lot more laid back &\\; less self impressed than the folks that posted that website. \\; He stopped by the house a few Bike Weeks back with some of his Ducati friends. \\; No mention of "good days to die" or any other macho crap. \\; Just some good ridin' tales. \\; You can check out his record ride here. \\; http://www.ducati.com/od/ducatinorth...d=5701 \\;
