RE: Installing Harley Riders back rest, A peice of Shxxt?
I have an 07' UC, have read one of the possible reasons for the shouder burn I get on long trips is lack of a back rest? \\; Any suggestions, I assume there is a removable rest available from some after market vendor?????????
RE: Installing Harley Riders back rest, A peice of Shxxt?
I put the adjustable rider backrest on my '05 RK and it's one of the best add-ons I've got. My lower back is bad and the HD \\;adjustable backrest has helped like you would'nt believe. I can ride so much longer with my back not hurting, I think the slouch factor.
RE: Installing Harley Riders back rest, A peice of Shxxt?
I had that problem until I got the backrest and now looking at new bars. At my size the stock stuff just don't cut the mustard and I think the bars and probably seat change will help. I find myself hunching over to reach the bars and not comfy in the seat or comfy in the seat and too far from the bars. A pain in the back for sure, ah customization!
Backrest really helped though bought it after first couple of hundred mile ride when even my wife leaned over and said you need that backrest huh, dam i luv that woman!

I was the first to respond and I should have been more clear. I now have the adjsutable and love it. I had the cheaper one and DID in fact bend the 2 bars. I liked someone else's idea of putting a washer or two under the front bolts.

+1 on the adjustable. However I still had to bend the bar on this one as well. But once you get it dialed in I bet you wouldnt go any LONG distance without it. And if you really want to do some mod's to this thing, you can take off the cover, and drill another hole and extend the slot for the backrest to slide up another notch to gain an inch or so. And trim some of the foam off the outside lower corners of the foam for more leg room. I needed to do this for my son. Made it a bunch more comfortable for him. \\;
