Wife and I are going to the mountains and she complains her butt hurts after 50 miles and I hate stopping every 45 min so I bought a trailer.
 \\;\\\\\\;
My question is, I'm new at this and was wondering if it's O.K. to use the support straps on the handle bars and/or engine guard on my Road King. Friend of mine said it was O.K. but he's pretty stupid. lol BTW I have the 1 1/4 bars which came with my Screamin Eagle. Where should I strap on the back of the bike?
 \\;\\\\\\;
Any advice would be appreciated.
dont understand. you want to strap a trilaer to your engine gaurds because your wife has a pain in the ***? i always thought that was what women called all their husbands!
Try the bag guards, they should help hold it down enough for transport. I would use the engine guard for the front, you can tweek the bars when strapping the bike down useing them.
Put her inside the \\;trailer and you don't have to strap her down.....
 \\;
Check out MSR tie downs. \\; Use them on my dirt bike and they have the extended loops on the strap that you \\;can run around the handlebars and put the loop on the hook. \\; Other end hooks to your trailer. \\; Strap down the rear tire. \\; Run the strap through the wheel and around the tire and hook it to the other side, no lateral bike \\;movement \\;when doing this. \\; They are about $20 a pair. \\; Most dirt bike shops havem or you can \\;get them from MSR website (don't know the url).

My old lady is good for day trips. \\; Nothing long distance. \\; She wants to go she flies or stays home \\;and I ride.
 \\;
 \\;
The day I bought my bike it was raining. \\; So I picked it up in my truck. \\; The guys at the dealer strapped it on the engine quard. \\; But they didn't just hook on to it, they hooked to the tie points on the truck then went around the frame and engine quard at the top center. \\; With the fairing its hard to strap to the bars and pull forward. \\; On the RK its probably ok to hook to the bars as long as it doesn't rub any where. \\; I don't remember what we did on the back. \\; Just find a secure location and you'll be fine. \\; JMHO.

If this doesn't work ........ leave the Ol Lady at home and ride.
Sorry I couldn't resist.
