I've got a 95 Ultra and Harley says I can't get the detachable set up for that model and year. I would like to be able to remove tour pack and install backrest and rack. I don't care if it is quick detach or if it takes an hour to swap out. Has anyone done this? Can you tell me what will work?
that is true. all the detach stuff is for 97 and later. i f you want to go to the expense you could change fender hardware and strutts or check the aftermarket. dennis kirk and j&p cycles are good starting points for this stuff.
Why do you wanna do this? You bought an Ultra because it is an Ultra.
To make a rich man's Street Glide??
There does seem to be a lot of interest in this lately and I think it is cool. I have it on next winter's list of things to do. For me it's all about options and having the best of both worlds. I can see lot's of reasons for doing this but most of all cause it's FUN!
Here are some excellent post from guys that did it. Not sure if this pertains to a 95 - others will know.
When my Ultra gets here I plan on making the tour pak a detachable.
I have these post saved because of the great info in them from guys that already did it and were kind enough to share the knowledge (thanks).
