Default slip on question

I posted this in the exhaust section, but got no response. I have V&H slipon's on an 04 Road King Custom. I'm trying
to make it a little louder. A friend said I can remove the baffles and run a 1/4 bolt through the bottom of slip on to give
me some resistance. Anyone heard of doing this?

With a change in back pressure by removing baffles, you affect how the engine runs in the lower end of the range. You'll loose torque by reducing backpressure. It's a trade off that you have to weigh out for more noise. You should be able to modify (shorten) the baffles a bit to increase the sound without seriously affecting performance.

Baffle removing I have heard of but not the bolt. Hey I seen weirder things so, go for it!

I pulled the baffle out of my V&H duals one time. It was too loud and I noticed a loss of power/torque. Look on V&H website. They do not recommend removing the baffles. I also can't see how a screw is going to provide any amount of back pressure in comparison to a baffle.
