Default V&H Slip ons Standard or quiet baffles

I have the V & H Straightshot slip ons and like the sound. After reading for a while some say the quiet baffles are not as loud but deeper.

I've got the quiet baffles in mine. First of all the sound level is audibly very close. They say the difference is 3db but if so it's only on the high end. I didn't put the meter on mine but that sounds about right. Toning down the raspiness is what the quiet baffles do best and they do seem to provide an overall deeper sound. That and give you a bit more back pressure which some say you can feel in the mid range torque. I only ran mine stock for a couple of days so I can't honestly say. I also have less decel popping since the quiet baffles were installed. My advice would be to go for them. They're not expensive, they're easy to install and you'll like the way they sound. If not, you'll have no problem getting someone to take them off your hands.

Do a search on quiet baffles and I guarantee you'll have enough reading for a week.

Same results on my 1200 Sportster. Rode it stock for a month and then installed the V&H slip-ons. Too much of the old drag pipe sound for me so I installed the quiet baffles and love the new sound. You know it's a Harley but not from 2 miles away. What did you think of the old baffles? A hollow tube with some louvers in it.

I have the standards in mystraightshots on my Dynabut will soon be changing ove to the quiet baffles for reasons already stated. A little back pressure is a good thing.

To me the quiet baffles smooth out the harshness of the stock V&H baffles.

i like the sound of the straight shots without the quiet baffles. sound is deep and not really too loud. much better than the stock pipes the bike came with. and when you get on it, boy what a sweet sound!!!
