Default Snapped fork bolt off...

Anyone ever snap off a fork bolt when tightening the axle holder bolts? I had my front tire changed today and upon tightening the bolts, I snapped one off !!!
Called the dealer to see how to get the stud out and was told they are welded in and the fork has to be replaced. Wanted to save some $$$ by taking the wheel in myself and getting the tire changed then putting the wheel back on myself.
Let's see, how much $$$ did I save???

I'm not 100% sure but I thought it was a stud that can be turned out. Find someone who knows before you do anything.

nobody welds in a stud, it's either threaded in, or pressed in.

It is threaded in and will turn out.If there is enough room left, run two nuts onto the shaft, get them snug against each other so that the bottom one works as a lock nut, and turn it out by putting a wrench on the top one. Then go to the parts counter and get part # 45998-73.After you have it take it to whomever told you to replace the fork and explain why they'll never get any business from you.

I posted a great big THANK YOU to you guys an hour and a half ago, but it didn't show up, so I say again,&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; THANK YOU !!!!!

It backed out with a set of vise grips and I already went and got the stud and am about to road test. This forum is awesome, I'll be making a contribution later when I get a minute.
You guys saved me a boat load of time. If I had taken the service writer at his word I would be wrenching for 8 hours tomorrow.
Thanks to ALL that took the time to answer and to Dawg for even offering a free part.
