tried to post longer question ...but seems cant write in more than 2 lines. how to remove fairing dash to access a 12v power for a GPS wire. any photos ?
The "dash" ("Fairing Cap" in Harley-speak) can be removed without removing the outer fairing or inner fairing.

The Service Manual explains how to remove the ignition switch\\; then remove the screws on either side and unplug the electrical connector. \\; My '04 procedure is different from your '08.
