Volume control switch broke
Not sure what happened I'm guessing a car door got it, but now my volume control switch is sort of dangling out of the socket (or whatever was holding it in is gone) and working 2% of the time. The bike is under warranty so I should just take in for repair. They are backed up 2 weeks+ so I'm wondering if there is an easy fix or some suggestions. I have not un bolted anything yet, hate to dig in and have parts/springs go flying so thought I'd throw this out and see if there is a helping hand for a rookie...
Well, the switch can be replaced but I wouldn't count on warranty paying the bill. \\; They'll pop for it if it was a manufacturer defect but not damage. \\;

Can't help you\\; but my volume control broke when I took delivery in March. After riding it home I noticed the volume control didn't work, and slightly dangled from the housing. Went back to the dealer three days later. The guy who showed me the bike said he noticed it didn't work correctly when he was demonstrating the bike. The switch was replaced under warranty\\; but HD had none in stock, backordered. The dealer called around and found one on Cape Cod and had it shipped down. Be careful, apparently the wiring in there is complicated, I had another problem (can't recall what it was) that the dealer said was related to the switch malfunction, although I couldn't see how they were related.
