Wrong Floating Rotor
Ok, so I go to the HD dealer. I pick out a set of front floating \\;rotors with chrome inner. Not quite sure of the HD number so I take it to the parts counter. Is this the right number for an 06RG? \\;HD parts dude looks at the number on the box, pulls out the catalog. Hmmm, hmmm, look real close, nods head, says yep that will work. Thanks. Get home, install em along with a new set of Lyndals. Wheel very hard to roll and nasty scraping noise. Pull the calipers, check pads for proper orientation, reinstall and still scraping noise. Check width of rotors then measure old ones. About 1 inch bigger. Hmmm, that must be what the 08 in the number means.
im guessing you didnt compare new with old before the install? find proper # for your model. if it isnt a match carry em back to the parts dude and tell him he bought a set!
ORIGINAL: EasternSP
Just kinda relied on the parts dude of being right. That will teach me.

You should get Dawg's phone number and check with him first.

Did the same thing last winter only I ordered online. Found out when I pulled the old rotors and matched up to the new. It took a couple weeks or so to ship back and get the replacement. My bad cause I didn't get the correct part number. Great rotors though.
