So I got this 08 RKC, and the dealer stuck on there Dealership plat frame, which doesnt fit right on the RKC license plate bracket. So I was outside today and said that looks a little wrong why not just remove the platframe the dealer put on.
Two screws later....
So I go to put the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles official license tag back on...what do you know, the holes in the license plate dont line up with the holes in the HD mount. So either the MoCo or NYSDMV are complete knuckle heads. Either way, what have others done to make their Road King License setup look purty?
its NewYork state we have odd plates i dont understand why but it a pain with any frame i end up taking tin snips to all my \\; plates to make them fit
Minnesota's didnt fit either... what i want to do is make \\;a bracket off of my lower rear bagger mount and have the license plate lower than the stick on emblem (clossoinne?)
 \\;
Have to think about that one.
I asked my dealer to knock off $500.00 of the price of the bike for me advertising for them, or take off their cheezy looking license plate frame. They took it off and put on a chrome Harley Davidson frame.
I was happy. Washington plate fits perfect in the Harley frames too.
Here's what I did on my FLHT for my lic. I run the 2/1 Thunderheader and I have the option with the left side. I hate a lic on top it just cleans up the back end of the bike..
The licence plate is made of composite metal & the bracket is 16 gauge stainless steel using 4 heavy SS rivets to connect the 2 together, I just broke the SS to match the angle of the back of the bag, real simple.
