Default RE: burning oil ?

There was a problem with a lot of the 05s with valve guide seals. Mine used 1 quart per 1500 miles. All of it going through the rear cylinder. My rear spark plug would be carboned up to the point of almost being fouled. Front plug would be nice and clean. The problem can be on&nbsp\\;front, rear, or &nbsp\\;both cylinders, but most often on rear only. I had new valve guide seals installed by Indy on rear cylinder,cost $240, 10,000 miles later no oil consumption. Early on Harley would not warranty. Said this&nbsp\\;amount of oil consumption was normal. Later on more dealers were replacing under warranty. &nbsp\\;

Hoss, can you give a little more detail? I have an 05 EGC, and I'm being told I have bad seals (front plug only fouling), that the company knew about it, they will not cover it, and it's going to cost at least $600 to fix. If it's not that big a deal, I'll just do it myself. Thanks

Hey Troll it cost me 320.00 at the Harley dealer,they used a fitting in the plug hole for air to hold up the valve,took off valve covers put on seals,they could have warrantyed it but said the compression was too even,tried to get them to do it ,but oh well.
