I dunno but it seems that most of the hype came from the riders, not from H-D themselves. H-D has always been a company that only made small annual changes. Not sure why so many people expected huge changes for 2009. IMO, slow development is why we still have these cool aircooled rides in 2008. Otherwise, H-D would have improved themselves into the soulless, perfect machines that are the majority of Japanese bikes and cars. 3 year development cycles are EXACTLY why cars are so boring today. And why cars bearing names like Impala and GTO have absolutely nothing in common with their predecessors. At least the lineage of Sportsters, Glides, etc can be traced.

The overweight-looking fuel tank and crappily-welded-on relocated upper motor mount, and the soul-less-looking throttle-by-wire were all enough for me to not bat an eye at the 08s. Now they have added overweight-looking rear tire/fender as well as unnecessarily changing the front wheel/tire too, along with porking up the frame, and passing the left-hand exhaust under the swingarm like some kind of eastern-origin bike.

I am glad I got the new engine/tranny on the 07 while all the other stuff was still good!
