Default Jiffy Stand Question

I gotta get one thing off my back before I ask my question.&nbsp\\; Before I bought an HD I have never heard of a kickstand or side stand reffered to as a "jiffy stand".&nbsp\\; Anyway, Does anyone know if the jiffy stand lock into position with the weight of the bike on it?&nbsp\\; I'm allways parnoid about the stand just folding up as I am getting off the bike.
&nbsp\\;
Thanks!

Just look down at the slot where the tab engages and verify it is in the slot before hopping off.

when getting off bike I watch to make sure the tab engages, then let the weight take over. Very cautious but always watch the tab engage.
&nbsp\\;
part of my 5000 mile check ups&nbsp\\;I take it apart and inspect the tab and bolt.
&nbsp\\;
It is alot of weight on one blot

The fact that the jiffy stand was quicker to use than the standard equipment center stand that Harleys came with in the 30s is exactly how it got its name.
