I gotta get one thing off my back before I ask my question. \\; Before I bought an HD I have never heard of a kickstand or side stand reffered to as a "jiffy stand". \\; Anyway, Does anyone know if the jiffy stand lock into position with the weight of the bike on it? \\; I'm allways parnoid about the stand just folding up as I am getting off the bike.
 \\;
Thanks!

AFTER A FEW SMALL \\; HEART \\; ATTACKS \\; THINKING UR \\; BIKE WILL FALL OVER ... I CAN TELL U \\; THAT \\; \\; AFTER MANY YEARS AND MANY HARLEYS \\; THE \\; "JIFFY" STAND IS ONE IF THE THINGS THE MOCO HAS PERFECTED.. \\; ITS LOOKS \\; WRONG.. \\; (DOESNT SIT \\; RIGHT ON THE GROUND  \\;IT SEEMS) \\; \\;  \\;IT \\; ROCKS THE BIKE \\; FORWARD \\; AT \\; TIMES \\; ....BUT IT \\; WORKS \\; PERFECTLY !..
DONT WORRY ABOUT THE KICK \\; STAND
 \\;
i always give the bike a lil pull back just in case...but watch it on a hill...throw it into 1st, push the bike forward a bit, then drop the jiffypop stand
when getting off bike I watch to make sure the tab engages, then let the weight take over. Very cautious but always watch the tab engage.
 \\;
part of my 5000 mile check ups \\;I take it apart and inspect the tab and bolt.
 \\;
It is alot of weight on one blot

RE: Jiffy Stand Question
The fact that the jiffy stand was quicker to use than the standard equipment center stand that Harleys came with in the 30s is exactly how it got its name.
