Default newbie question

going to try and do my own tire changes. the service manual says to raise the rear wheel high enough to remove the axle. how much higher can i expect to lift it to remove the wheel and tire?
thanks,

Really ought to have a bike jack or center stand to do this.&nbsp\\; Sears has a fair jack for bikes at less tha $100.

needs to be approx 3 ft off the ground. high enough to clear fender. then lay on ground with 2x4 uner rim 2x4 on top of rim by bead. drive car on board till bead breaks. then use spoons to remove. lots of lube!

If this is your first time be carefull when you remove the weight from the rear wheel. Balance accordingly.

The reason I say that is after I removed my rear tire I went to the front. The sissor jack is powdercoated and so is the frame. No rubber. Left off the weight of the front tire and the bike started sliding rearward away from me. Talk about tightening&nbsp\\; up your grommet
