Default FLHX wheels on a 99 FLH

What would it take to put newer FLHX (street Glide) wheels on my 99 Electra Glide, just a wheel bearing switch?&nbsp\\;

NO, they won't fit. Axle size is different. It is very expensive and a pain in the butt to get a nice rear wheel on a 99 or older bagger.

i disagree. switching bearings takes the wheel from a 1" to a 3/4"&nbsp\\; axle size. i put new style wheels on my 95 with no issues. even used same spacers

BlueFLHT, I am of the same thinking as you.&nbsp\\; I should be able to put new 3/4" ID bearings in a 06 wheel and install on my 3/4 axle.&nbsp\\; I am not sure about the wheel spacers.&nbsp\\; Has anyone else done this?

I just put 08 FLHX wheels (25mm axle) on my 07 RKC (1" axle)...had the dealer put a new bearing/spacer kit ($69 each plus labor)...everything is beautiful...

Switch the bearings. Are the rotor mounting holes the same? It has the old style brakes. I think they changed in 2000 until the Brembo's in '08. Aftermarket rotors I guess????

Sorry about reviving an old thread, but this is exactly what I am looking at. I have a buddy with a 2012 FLHX that put new mags on his bike. He is looking to sell his factory 2012 street glide wheels to me. I have a 1999 FLHTPI that has been fully outfitted to look like a street glide. I am aware of the axle size difference (3/4" to 25mm) but that can be addressed with bearings. I know his rear tire will not fit in my swing arm. I am confident I can put the correct size tire on his rim to fit my bike (unless someone on here has direct experience proving otherwise). My question is - his bike has ABS. I don't know what difference that makes with the wheels. I don't have a problem cutting new spacers for the wheels. I do have speedo sensor mounted on the axle/wheel. Does anyone have direct experience doing this? I cannot find any information saying yay or nay on the interwebs.

OK, so of course the next page I clicked on says the only difference is the left side bearing. I'm changing out bearings anyway. No issue there. Now the only question is fitment. Will these suckers bolt on my bike with a skinnier tire in the rear?

From what reading here, front not to much trouble, rear much trouble because it's so much wider.
