Default CB, too quiet ??

I have a new Ultra and my riding buddies say they can't hear me talking on my CB. They have to turn their volume way up to hear me, which in return is too loud for them to comunicate with each other. Any ideas ? I installed the lower J&amp\\;M antennas, they have the SWR's pre-set as well as the load, they actually should be better than stock.

First I'd put the stock cb antenna back on and see if it helps. If not I\\;d take it to a cb shop and get the SWR'S checked and adjusted before you blow the finals in the radio and can't get out at all.

In the back of the box, huh? Could be as simple as a mic mis-match...had this problem once on a aeroplane that I fly - one headset worked fine...the other did too, but together no way! Are you running two mikes together using the CB as an intercom? And as heavymetalthunder says...check those SWR's!

Switch mikes with one of your friends and see if it makes a diffrence.&nbsp\\; Also get the mike right up to your mouth and give it a good shot using your voice as the additonal volume into the radio.

The JM antennas are not all they are cracked up to be.&nbsp\\; There is a reason the stock ones are the way they are.&nbsp\\; I had the J&amp\\;M and went back to stock.
