I'm new here, but wanted to thank you \\;for your review on the '09 SG. I currently ride an '04 Heritage and am considering selling the Heritage and getting an '09 SG. I'll be doing a demo ride at the end of September on a SG and hopefully, that will sway my decision to get one.
I can't understand how people can say that the '09 changes are "minor". Everything they changed, except the wheels, is in response to rider complaints and make major improvements in the touring bikes. That frame change is probably one of HD's most important change in years. Guys say they can make their older bikes the same with aftermarket parts, that's BS. You can't change the frame and swingarm to match the new ones. \\;\\\\\\; If I hadn't bought an '08 only a year ago, I'd buy a new one in a heartbeat.
 \\;\\\\\\;
If I didn't want to stay married, I'd probably buy one anyway. \\;\\\\\\;
 \\;
Not so fast there, Jim - the wheels changed too!!! What is this, the 3rd year in a row they changed them?

I know they changed the wheels as well, but I don't think that was in response to rider complaints, just cosmetic.
Yeah, I'm not all that impressed. But then, I'm not a "gotta have the latest" kind of guy. My 07 is an awesome bike, a real keeper. The kinds of improvements made on the 09's aren't all that attractive to me.

 \\; This happens every year when the new bikes come out. \\; Some will always say no and others can't wait to go into something new. \\; I say if you want to do it, just do it. \\; I bet you will enjoy it no matter how we all manage to define the changes. \\; I know every new bike I have every purchase, has been fun and enjoyable. \\; If you do it good for you. \\;
The only reason \\;Harley updated the FLH line is because of the Victory Vision......period. 2007 the motor company screwed everyone who bought 06..with the Twin cam 96 6 speed for the same price as the 06. then in 08 6 gallon gas tank and ABS was offered with and extra engine mount...there screws the 07 guys. Now in 09 they screw us with a updated FLH frame, suspension \\;and crossover beneath the bike \\;with adjustable foot controls which should have been done years ago...I dont understand the motor company.........[:@]
thanks for the write up. \\; I too am torn. \\; I only have 2000 miles on my 08 RG. \\; I really want the CVO RG. \\; I am trying not to think about it, but the itch keeps coming back. \\; Now this. \\;I am thinking about putting it up on HD Trader to see what I can get.
if they would of came out with a CVO Street GlideI might have traded the 08 \\;I recently bought but without that upgrade I will keep the 08. \\; I love it!!! \\; I have done a lot already to it, and can still do more.... not to mention I would loose my **** if I traded her in.
But they do look nice, oh yeah and also no Crimson Red Sunglow! \\;
