I wonder if anyone out there can help me out with a link for the needed fitting to get on the Zerk fitting on the steering head of my 08' Streetglide? \\; Or if one of you guys could help me out with your method of adding grease to the head bearings. Thanks in advance!
Obviously, the engineers who decided on the steering neck zerk fitting location had no idea that a fairing would be mounted on the bike. You would be best off to go to an auto parts and buy a 45 degree 1/4inch zerk.Take your fairing off and swap out the fitting and point it so you can hit it with a grease gun.Someone on here mentioned a grease gun head that could hit it from 90 degrees out.I havent seen one of those though.

I have seen a small 90* adapter to fit on my grease gun, but I just cant locate one right now....locally at least. I have already thought of just changing out the Zerk to a 90* one in place of the straight one on there now.....and I think with a bit of luck I may even be able to change it out without removing the fairing???
I would have to remove the old one to match up a new one though....I have no idea what thread pitch/size is used on the bike right now. If I was going to remove the fairing I think I would have easy access to the fitting as is....no?
I removed my grease zerk and took it to O'Reilley's Auto Parts. \\; They matched up the threads with a 90 degree zerk and I replaced it \\;with the fairing on. \\; Just take your time. \\; It makes squirting grease into the neck a breeze.
