For the grease gun fitting I bought a RIGHT ANGLE COUPLER 700-2020 from NAPA Auto Parts. ($13.00).
It worked great except you gotta push it on hard to make sure it couples over the zerk. It will work.
HD sells Special Purpose Grease 99857-97 for steering head bearings. 14 oz cartridge.
I never have much luck using the cartridge inside the grease gun. I ended up pulling it out and manually
gobbing the grease into the gun, then I was able to get it into the zerk\\ steering head. It seemed to take an
awful lot of grease (as if the steering head had never been greased - it finally started oozing out the top and
bottom bearing covers .......My guess is you gotta fill up the whole steering head cavity before it pressurizes the void and oozes through the bearings????
I reckon the 45 degree zerk will work too instead of the coupler, my mind just went to the grease gun adapter first.
