If a quake was strong enough to knock my bike over,I would have bigger concerns like my family and house.

i agree family would be first. i was really just wondering. being from the east coast and never having experienced one it was just a hmmm i wonder moment

We can laugh about this but I was part of the response following the 2002 Denali earthquake in Alaska. We stayed at a roadhouse in Paxon and were told by the owners that during the earthquake, they watched a fully loaded semi and trailer (what is that, about 80,000 pounds) bounce all the way across the parking lot (over a hundred feet) and come to rest against the building. You can count on your bike bouncing around...probably too much hassle to strap it down to the floor each time your ride it though. Earthquake insurance won't cover it b/c the deductibles are too high. I wonder if the bike insurance would cover it?? Probably some small clause buried in the policy that it won't.

i was at work went home to get my bike out of the garage after checking on the wife so i left my truck just in case

that was just a warning choice of truck or bike and the bike won-ride safe
