Clank after installing Progressive fork spring kit
Hey Boys-
A buddy and I installed the Progressive Fork lowering spring kit to compensate for 21" wheels up front. BOTH of us now have a clank when we hit a good pothole or sharp bump( I say clank, like something is hitting the fender or fork covers, not a deep thud or clunk) and can't find the source. I have read here about the stem nut needing a retorque because of play in the neck and steering stem. I did re-torque it to 80lbs. I still have the clank. It does not appear that the brake hoses or any other objects are striking the fender, fork covers, or air deflector.. anybody else deal with this issue!???
Thanks!
Jason
Bottoming your forks?? How 'bout putting a zip tie around the fork tubes to register how far a stroke you're getting in order to hear this 'clank'.
Fender hitting voltage regulator?
Good suggestions. But it doesn't seem to be related to deep travel of the forks, and there are NO marks on the fender suggesting it's being struck or hitting anything..
Thanks again for the suggestions!!
Did you install the PVC spacers on top of the springs? How much of the spring/spacer was sticking out of the fork tubes before you put the nuts back on?
