I had the Kuryakyn Panacea taillight and rear turn signals installed at the dealer when I bought the bike. This is the first I've heard about not being able to use the four-way flashers. I'll be calling Biketronics tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up.
I have the complete Kuryakyn Panacea set up, including their turn signals, on my '07 FLHX and it works fine; flashers and all. The only "issue" is that the security light on the dash blinks with the turn signals.
I had the same setup on my '03 Night Train (in fact I kept the turn signals and installed them on the new bike) and because I only had one load equalizer installed the security light remained lit all the time.
I don't know about '08's but like I said; no problems on the '07 at all.
I have not looked at the other brands available but I will not own a bike without the Panacea set up ever again (after getting run over in Reno in '03).
I have the complete set up on my 08 Ultra, no problems at all. Purchased mine set up from Custom Dynamics with a better price and free shipping, work out good for me.
